The Shoshana Wodak Lab is part of the VUB-VIB Center for Structural Biology and uses molecular simulation and modelling techniques to study protein-protein, protein-DNA, and protein-ligand interactions at the atomic scale. Further to this, the laboratory analyses the properties of known protein structures and sequences in order to gain insight into how evolution has shaped the functional specificity of proteins. Shoshana Wodak is a member of the Executive Committee that leads the ELIXIR 3D-BioInfo Community aiming to build new consortia and organise workshops to establish data standards, and to seek community agreement on benchmark datasets and strategies amongst structural bioinformaticians. Shoshana contributes to ELIXIR Implementation studies in the 3D-BioInfo and the Intrinsically Disordered Protein fields.
