Agro-Incubator

The VIB Agro-Incubator, led by Stijn Dhondt, fosters the current AgBio/AgTech ecosystem, supports start-ups, and catalyses new developments in the sector by providing services to industry and academia. Focus areas are sustainable agriculture, climate change mitigation and adaptation, biological crop protection, and digital farming. Members of the VIB Agro-Incubator are actively working to further develop PIPPA, a web interface and database for the management of plant phenotyping data. Stijn Dhondt and his team are also actively involved in EMPHASIS, the European infrastructure for plant phenotyping. The collaboration strategy drawn up between ELIXIR and EMPHASIS on data data standards and information systems, will enhance further developments.
