Yves Moreau Lab

The Moreau research group is part of the STADIUS Center for Dynamical Systems, Signal Processing and Data Analytics, a research division of the Department of Electrotechnical Engineering (ESAT) at the KU Leuven. Yves Moreau’s group focuses on AI algorithms and software platforms for the integration of complex data in clinical genomics and drug discovery: (1) federated analysis of real-world clinical and genomic data, (2) data fusion algorithms for the identification of pathogenic genetic variation in rare genetic disorders and liquid biopsies, and (3) data fusion for drug discovery and drug design. His team aims at demonstrated clinical or industrial applicability of their methods and proven effectiveness in human genetics research and drug discovery.

The lab hosts and maintains WiNGS (Widely integrated NGS), a federated and web-based platform tackling the complexity of analysing genome sequencing data. WiNGS is recognised as an ELIXIR Belgium Node Service. From the start of ELIXIR, Yves’ team has been involved in ELIXIR Implementation studies on developing the ELIXIR Beacons Network and Federated Human Data. Currently, Yves is also vice-chair of the ELIXIR Belgium Management Board.
