Genomic Data Infrastructure Launch Announcement

The European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) project launched in Brussels on Thursday 17 November. The new project, coordinated by ELIXIR, involves a consortium of partners from 20 European countries and will facilitate a cross-border federated network of national genome collections for biomedical research and personalised medicine.

Building on the preparatory work of the 1+MG initiative and the Beyond 1 Million Genomes (B1MG) project, this federated network will facilitate better healthcare for citizens in Europe by providing researchers with access to over one million genomes and related clinical data.

You can read about ELIXIR Belgium’s contributions on our project’s page.
