The ENA Data Submission Toolbox assists in submitting raw reads and assembled sequences to the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA). The toolbox offers a single-step submission process for both metadata and data, a graphical user interface, secure credential handling and tabular-formatted metadata as input.
A command-line tool is available for advanced users, as well as multiple Galaxy tools that allow users with little or no bioinformatic knowledge to make bulk submissions of sequencing reads and assemblies. The tools are also available in an-easy-to deploy Galaxy Docker container for on premise processing and submission.
The tool was developed by ELIXIR Belgium in 2020, further developments (e.g. for the submission of consensus sequences) are ongoing. Extensive documentation is available in our RDM Guide, the manuscript can be read here.
